The health of our planet and the health of our population are linked in a fundamental way.
In Scotland, we already face significant challenges to population health with widening health inequalities meaning that people living in our more deprived communities live shorter, less healthy lives.
We also know that the impacts of climate change will widen inequalities within our society, both globally and locally. Those who have contributed the least to emissions will be most likely to suffer the worst consequences and be less resilient to the impacts.
